After 2005, Jorge Portela started following up on the work of the Portuguese Contemporary Dance Company (founded by Vasco Wellenkamp and Graça Barroso in 1998, which artistic director is since 2008 Liliana Mendonça ).

He photographed the CPBC 's vast and original repertoire of contemporary dance at their rehearsals and shows: choreographies by Vasco Wellenkamp, Jan Linkens, Rui Lopes Graça, Henry Oguike, Gagik Ismalian, Cláudia Nóvoa e Patrick Delcroix.

The artist used digital photography, and, after 2009, he has in addition used video recordings in order to create Art Works on computer, which celebrates contemporary dance's full virtual potential.

Over 200 large dimensions works were generated with the gathered material and a Digital Video is being created, as well as a multimedia work.

Jorge Portela intends to keep working on his Dance Art with the CPBC , but he also wishes to extend this work to other dance Companies of both Contemporary and Classic Dance.
